Principal’s Message

Our campus was originally built as a high school so many of our facilities were “upscaled” for high school students. For example, our Science labs are state of the art, and have equipment normally found only in high schools. Our 6500 square foot Library contains over 11,000 books and has a computer lab for students to investigate and explore academic topics.

We have a Science and Math Magnet School and a Byrd Humanities Academy program.  We also offer elective classes such as Computers, Art & Music.  I am confident that our scores will continue to rise for this school year and every year. We have a very dedicated staff, who works exceptionally hard to help each student develop into an educated, responsible and caring citizen.

 

Byrd MS has two after school programs. Youth Services offers the Homework Club, Dance and Sports. We also have the KYDS after school program where students participate in many extra curricular activities.

 

I want to extend a special thank you to all of my stakeholders-students, staff and parents-who work so hard to make Byrd MS the great school that it is.
