What is CJSF?

The purpose of the California Junior Scholarship Federation, a state-wide organization of over 600 chapters, is to foster high standards of scholarship, service, and citizenship on the part of students of California's public and private junior high and middle schools.
 

What are the benefits of CJSF membership?

CJSF prepares the student for CSF membership in high school. CJSF students are encouraged to participate in community service as well as service projects on campus when the opportunities arise. 
 

Who is eligible to apply?

CJSF is currently open to 7th and 8th graders.
To qualify for CJSF membership this semester, follow these guidelines:
  • GPA is 3.5 or higher on the 1st semester report card 
  • D or F in any subject shall disqualify the student from membership for the semester.
  • U in citizenship (cooperation) disqualifies a student from membership for the semester
What do I need to turn in to join CJSF?
  • If you qualify, you have been added to Byrd CJSF Schoology group. Fill in application in Resources by February 12, 2020. 

Do you accept late applications?

Unfortunately, no. In the bylaws established by the state organization of CJSF, it specifically states that late applications may not be accepted. Submitting applications on time is part of being in CJSF.
