Culmination Requirements

The LAUSD Middle School Culmination Policy defines the criteria for issuing a Middle School Certificate of Completion and for students to participate in the Middle School Culmination Activities. The Policy supports student achievement and guides students in preparing for matriculation from middle school to high school.
 
To participate in the culmination activity, 8th grade students must meet all LAUSD requirements and school-site criteria to earn a Certificate of Completion which is the following:
 
-MUST earn at least 50 credits for the academic year and MUST PASS each course (FALL & SPRING) with a mark of “D” or better.
-Students may have a MAXIMUM of Four (4) U’s for the year. (Combined total of both Fall and Spring final grades including homeroom)
-All library fines must be paid; textbooks and library books must be returned. All electronic devices such as chromebooks and chargers must be returned in working condition.
-No more than seven (7)absences per school year.
