Tardy Policy

Students must arrive in class on time. Failure to do so disrupts the class. Many tardy “sweeps” are held each week at Byrd Middle School to help students get to class on time. A student tardy the first time will receive a letter home that must be returned. The parent will be told about the tardy. The second tardy will result in the assignment of paper-pick-up and a letter home. Further tardies will result in increasing levels of consequences that can include detentions, Saturday detention, or other consequences.
